On July 15 2021, Japan’s world-renowned violinist MONE HATTORI who has won numerous international awards—performed for the first time at Milan Fashion Week UFA in Japan in collaboration with XANA, a virtual space developed by NOBORDER.z (CEO: Rio Takeshi Kubo), a virtual x blockchain company based in Dubai that operates in five countries around the world. “MONE HATTORI ” presented the world’s first virtual x real performance in the world of classical music.
NOBORDER.z, responsible for the virtualisation of the Unicorn Fashion Awards held on the first day of Milan Fashion Week, has created the world’s first show in which volumetrically photographed models move freely in a virtual space. For the show’s opening, NOBORDER.z teamed up with MONE HATTORI, who had long wanted to take on a new challenge in classical music.
MONE HATTORI performed in a dedicated volumetric studio with over a hundred cameras, and NOBORDER.z imported the data into their virtual space platform “XANA” and reconstructed her performance in 3D on a fantastic scene of the morning glow in the ocean. The camera work was programmed to move freely in 360 degrees in all directions, transcending the conventional wisdom of the volumetrics, to create video work. At the event, MONE HATTORI performed in synchronization with the virtual version of herself, a world first, which surprised and impressed the audience.
